FAQ
UF resins release free formaldehyde during mixing and additional HCHO during stoving from thermolysis. EU Directive 2004/42/CE and CARB regulations limit formaldehyde content in coating products. Switching to low-HCHO UF grades (<0.5% free) or replacing UF with melamine resins reduces VOC/HCHO emissions. For food-contact, medical, or interior architectural applications, UF resins are generally prohibited.
