FAQ
Effective crosslinking requires acid value ≥10 mg KOH/g in the binder. Optimal range is 15–40 mg KOH/g (OH-acrylic with pendant COOH, acid-functional polyurethane, or alkyd). Below 10 mg KOH/g, CDI groups are under-reacted, reducing crosslink density. Above 50 mg KOH/g, high dosage of PDI-100 is needed, raising formulation cost. Calculate stoichiometric CDI:COOH ratio targeting 1.0–1.5 equivalents CDI per equivalent COOH for maximum network efficiency.
