FAQ

The bicyclic norbornene-derived ring structure of NMA produces crosslinked networks with significantly higher Tg (180–200°C vs 110–130°C for MeTHPA/DGEBA) due to the rigid bridged-ring contribution to backbone stiffness. NMA is the benchmark curing agent for filament-wound pressure vessels and glass/carbon fabric laminates requiring 180°C+ service temperature. Its higher AEW means slightly more anhydride by weight vs MeTHPA, but the Tg gain justifies the cost premium in aerospace and power-generation applications.
