FAQ
4,4'-Diaminodiphenylsulfone (4,4'-DDS) and 3,3'-DDS are the primary hardeners for MY721 in aerospace prepregs. 4,4'-DDS (stoichiometric ratio 27–30 phr per 100 phr MY721) gives Tg 250–260°C; 3,3'-DDS lowers Tg to ~220°C but improves toughness. Dicyandiamide/uron accelerated systems (120–130°C) are viable for non-structural applications. The system must be oven-post-cured at 175–200°C for 2 h to achieve maximum Tg.
