KH-560 can replace up to 5–10 phr of DGEBA to add silane-mediated adhesion to the system; above 10 phr, its low molecular weight functionality reduces network Tg. Its main role is as an adhesion promoter to glass, silica, and mineral fillers — the epoxy group reacts with amine/anhydride hardener networks while the silane end bonds covalently to inorganic surfaces. This coupling effect dramatically improves wet adhesion retention (>95% crosshatch adhesion after 1000 h humidity testing at 40°C/95% RH).
