FAQ
Most leveling agents (especially silicone types) reduce surface tension, which stabilizes foam. For wood lacquers applied by spray or brush, use a low-foam polyether-polysiloxane leveling agent at 0.2–0.5% combined with a 0.1–0.2% defoamer at the grinding stage. Avoid over-adding leveling agent (>1%) as this can cause foam stability and cloudiness in clear coatings. Test the combined package by shaking the final formulation and observing foam break time (target <30 seconds).
