FAQ
Acetylenic diol wetting agents (Surfynol types) provide dynamic surface tension reduction through their unique linear, symmetric structure adsorbing at the advancing contact line. On moderately difficult substrates (painted surfaces, primers), they perform comparably to polyether silicones at similar dosage. For very low-energy substrates (PP, PE, PTFE <30 mN/m), fluorocarbon or polyether silicone wetting agents give stronger surface tension reduction. The key advantage of acetylenic diols is they do not affect recoatability and do not cause silicone contamination—important for automotive OEM multi-coat systems.
