FAQ
Aluminum tripolyphosphate is compatible with a wide range of binders: alkyd, epoxy, polyurethane, acrylic, and styrene-acrylic emulsions. Its near-neutral pH (6–7) does not cause premature hydrolysis of alkyd or polyester binders (unlike more alkaline zinc oxide or calcium molybdate). In waterborne systems, APP-W can be included in the grind phase with standard dispersants. Avoid combining with strongly acidic components. For best performance, use particle size <5 μm to maximize pigment surface area and ion release rate at the corrosion interface.
