Combined matting-leveling agents form fine particles in-situ during film formation, ensuring excellent dispersion without pre-grinding. They typically offer better scratch resistance than coarse silica at equivalent gloss level. However, separate silica + leveling agent allows finer independent control: silica type and particle size for exact gloss target, leveling agent type for flow requirements. Choose combined agents for simplified formulation and improved consistency; choose separate components for maximum formulation flexibility.
