FAQ
TEA has a low flash point (−15°C) and TLV of 1 ppm (ACGIH) due to strong mucous membrane irritation and potential corneal damage. Production areas must have: LEV (local exhaust ventilation) at mixing points, chemical splash goggles and full face shield, acid-resistant gloves (butyl rubber), and Class B fire suppression. Storage must be in sealed containers away from oxidizers and heat sources. Handling areas must be equipped with emergency eye wash stations. While TEA is widely used in waterborne coatings, DMEA or AMP-95 are generally safer alternatives for minimizing occupational exposure.
