Dioctyl Sodium Sulfosuccinate OT-75 (Low-Foam Wetting Agent)

Most anionic surfactants (e.g., SDS, AES) have high foam potential due to their long hydrophilic chain that stabilizes foam lamellae. Dioctyl sodium sulfosuccinate has a branched, bulky hydrophobe (two octyl chains) that creates a geometrically unfavorable packing for foam lamella formation—the cone shape of the molecule disrupts foam film stability. This makes it an effective dynamic surface tension reducer (fast substrate wetting) with minimal persistent foam, ideal for gravure and flexo inks where foam causes print defects.
