CBS-30 is a simple anionic surfactant that adsorbs onto carbon black via π–π interactions with the graphitic surface. It provides lower cost dispersion but weaker long-term stability than polymeric dispersants. Best used in combination with a polymeric dispersant at 0.5–1% CBS-30 + 1–2% polyacrylate for optimal color development and storage stability.
