Silicone Wax Dispersion SW-50 (Soft-Touch Feel Agent)

Soft-touch feel is determined by the wax particle size, coverage density at the film surface, and wax hardness. Silicone waxes (PDMS-based) with particle sizes <2 μm create a fine, even surface texture that feels velvety without grittiness. Carnauba-PDMS hybrids combine the lubricity of silicone with the harder carnauba base, providing a firm but smooth touch (automotive interior grade). Dosage control is critical: 1–2% on formulation gives light slip; 3–5% gives pronounced soft-touch. Overdosing causes poor interlayer adhesion if a clearcoat is applied over the soft-touch base.
