Polyether Silicone Substrate Wetting Agent BYK-346 Type

Substrate wetting agents (like BYK-346 type) act at the coating/substrate interface and reduce dynamic surface tension so the wet film spreads over the surface without pulling back. Leveling agents act within the coating film during drying to smooth out surface defects (brush marks, roller texture). Both mechanisms can be present in one molecule, but BYK-346 type is optimized for substrate wetting, making it particularly effective on plastics and metals before leveling additives take effect.
