Offset Lithographic Ink Defoamer OID-20 (Low-Alcohol Systems)

Traditional offset dampening uses IPA (isopropyl alcohol) at 8–12% to control surface tension and ink/water emulsification. In IPA-free dampening (regulatory/environmental driver), the ink-water balance is more sensitive, and additives with high alcohol content can disrupt emulsification stability, causing toning or scumming. IPA-free defoamers use polyglycol ethers and non-alcohol surfactants that control foam without interfering with the dampening chemistry, making them essential for modern alcohol-free offset presses.
