FAQ
Naphthalene sulfonate formaldehyde condensates (NSFC) are primarily used in high-alkali cementitious systems (concrete, grouting, cementitious floor coatings) where their pH stability (3–14) and resistance to calcium ion bridging are essential. In standard latex paints (pH 8–9), lower-cost sodium polyacrylate dispersants are preferred. NSFCs may be chosen for latex paints applied directly over fresh concrete or lime substrates where high-pH migration could destroy other dispersants. Note: formaldehyde content (residual <0.1%) must be verified for indoor applications.
