C8 perfluoro compounds (PFOA, PFOS) are restricted under EU REACH SVHC and US EPA. Modern fluorosurfactant leveling agents use short-chain C4 or C6 chemistry which is PFOA-free and currently permitted. However, C6 compounds are under increasing regulatory scrutiny in some regions. For food-contact, cosmetic, or children-toy applications, verify current regulatory status.
