FAQ
Fischer-Tropsch (FT) wax is produced by catalytic hydrogenation of CO/H2 synthesis gas, yielding an extremely pure, linear paraffinic hydrocarbon with very narrow molecular weight distribution and ultra-low ash (<0.01%). Polyethylene (PE) wax is produced by ethylene polymerization and contains branching, broader MW distribution, and higher ash (0.05–0.5%). For high-performance coatings, FT wax outperforms PE wax in: sharper melt transition (better controlled release), lower ash content (critical for electronics coatings), higher hardness per unit of lubrication, and better optical clarity in transparent coatings. PE wax is the cost-competitive choice for standard industrial applications.
