FAQ
DAA (diacetone alcohol) is incorporated into the acrylic polymer backbone as a pendant ketone (DAAM monomer). Upon film formation, ADH (adipic dihydrazide, added to the waterborne dispersion) reacts with the ketone groups through hydrazone crosslinking at room temperature. This creates a one-pack self-crosslinking system: stable in the dispersion (slow reaction in aqueous phase), but rapid crosslinking after water evaporation as polymer chains concentrate. The result is chemical and solvent resistance approaching 2K systems without the pot-life limitation. DAA also serves as coalescent during film formation before the crosslinking reaction is complete.
