Cationic electrocoat binders carry positive charge and are incompatible with anionic dispersants which would cause flocculation and bath instability. CPD-30 matches the charge character of the bath, allowing carbon black to be dispersed without disrupting the electrophoretic deposition process. It also improves the conductivity of the cured primer film.
