FAQ
Dry carbon black is one of the most difficult pigments to disperse — its primary particle size is 10–50 nm but it forms dense, hard aggregates and chain-like agglomerates that require very high shear and long milling times to break down to sub-200 nm dispersed particle size. Pre-dispersed carbon black dispersion eliminates this milling step: the pigment is already at 50–150 nm (d50), stabilized by a dispersant system compatible with waterborne binders, and can be incorporated with simple stirring at the let-down stage. Benefits include: drastically reduced formulation time, consistent color (jetness/blueness value) from batch to batch, no pigment dusting/handling issues, and a fully compatible aqueous carrier.
