Carbodiimide Crosslinker CDI-40

Carbodiimide groups (–N=C=N–) react selectively with carboxylic acid (–COOH) groups present in acrylic emulsions and PUD binders, forming N-acylurea covalent bonds. The reaction proceeds at ambient temperature and accelerates upon film drying. The resulting covalent network provides superior hydrolytic stability, making CDI-40 especially suitable for packaging inks, industrial topcoats, and flexible laminating adhesives exposed to prolonged humidity or aqueous environments.
