Strontium chromate is listed on REACH Annex XIV due to Cr(VI) carcinogenicity. In the EU, aerospace use requires REACH authorisation (granted to specific downstream users). Outside the EU, it remains the benchmark anticorrosion pigment in aerospace primer systems where alternatives (e.g., trivalent chromium, zinc phosphate) have not yet fully qualified.
