Barytes Natural (Heavy Barium Sulfate)

Natural barytes (mined barite, ≥97% BaSO4) is significantly more cost-effective than synthetic precipitated barium sulfate (Blanc Fixe), which is produced by chemical reaction at higher cost. For heavy-duty applications such as anti-corrosion primers, marine paints, and sound-deadening underbody coatings, natural barytes delivers equivalent chemical inertness, acid resistance, and high density (4.2–4.5 g/cm³) at a fraction of the cost. Synthetic grades are preferred only where ultra-fine particle size, high purity (≥99%), or very low oil absorption are critical requirements.
