FAQ

Diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) pigments owe their outstanding lightfastness (7–8 on the blue-wool scale) to a highly stable, planar aromatic ring system with strong intermolecular hydrogen bonding. Unlike monoazo and disazo reds whose chromophore degrades rapidly under UV, the DPP core absorbs and dissipates UV energy without breaking the conjugated system, making PR 254 suitable for exterior automotive and industrial finishes where long-term color retention is critical.
