FAQ
PY 53 is a mixed metal oxide (MMO) pigment with a rutile crystal structure. Its inorganic lattice is thermally stable up to 1000°C, far exceeding any organic yellow pigment. This makes it the standard yellow for stoving enamels, coil coatings cured at 230–260°C, and powder coatings baked at 180–220°C. It also shows exceptional lightfastness (8) and excellent acid and alkali resistance, which is why it is used in architectural coatings requiring 20+ year durability.
