FAQ
Jetness refers to the depth of blackness (pure blue-black vs. brown-black undertone). High-jetness carbon blacks have very small primary particle size and high surface area, producing deep blue-toned blacks valued in automotive basecoats and luxury packaging inks. Low-jetness grades have a moderate surface area (180–200 m²/g) and larger primary particles, giving a slightly brownish-black or neutral black tone. In architectural paints, mastics, and industrial enamels, low-jetness grades are preferred because they disperse more easily, have lower binder demand, and deliver cost-effective black colouration without the processing challenges of ultra-fine jetness grades.
