FAQ
Both DETA (diethylenetriamine) and TETA (triethylenetetramine) are short-chain aliphatic polyamines used for ambient-temperature epoxy cure. TETA has one more amine group (4 nitrogen atoms vs 3) and a higher molecular weight, resulting in a slightly higher phr requirement (13–14 vs 10–11 with E-51) but comparable crosslink density. TETA generally gives marginally longer pot life and slightly less exotherm than DETA, and is often preferred for tank lining applications where handling hazard must be balanced against cure speed.
