FAQ

Blocking an isocyanate with a blocking agent such as methyl ethyl ketoxime (MEKO) temporarily deactivates the NCO group. At room temperature the blocked isocyanate is stable and can be formulated with a polyol in a single-package system. When the coating is heated to the deblocking temperature (140–160°C for MEKO), the blocking agent is released, regenerating free NCO groups that then crosslink with the polyol to form a fully cured, durable PU network.
