S-104 should be pre-dissolved in a water-miscible cosolvent (propylene glycol, ethylene glycol, or isopropanol at 50–70% active) before addition to the aqueous phase, or added to the grind phase with pigment and co-solvent. Direct addition of solid S-104 to the waterborne system causes slow dissolution and uneven performance.
