FAQ
Polyamide gelling resins like PA-150 form a thermally reversible gel network in the mineral oil vehicle of offset inks. This gel structure gives the ink a desirable short, buttery body and thixotropic rheology — the ink flows under the shear of rollers and plate nip but rapidly recovers its body when shear is removed. This controls ink misting at high press speeds, improves ink transfer uniformity, and reduces dot gain. Without gelling control, high-speed offset inks tend to be too fluid and prone to spray.
