FAQ
Amine synergists act as hydrogen donors in Type II photoinitiator systems. When the excited photoinitiator (e.g., benzophenone) abstracts a hydrogen atom from the amine, it generates a highly reactive aminoalkyl radical that initiates polymerization. Additionally, amine co-initiators consume oxygen through their interaction with peroxy radicals, effectively scavenging the oxygen that causes surface inhibition and tackiness in UV-cured films exposed to air.
