ITX functions as a Type II sensitizer (hydrogen abstraction), most commonly paired with amine co-initiators such as MDEA or EDB. It absorbs strongly at 383 nm and transfers energy to amine co-initiators, generating radicals that cure the ink. Typical loading is 1–3 % combined with 2–5 % amine synergist.
