HEUR thickeners like TT-935 are hydrophobically modified urethane associative thickeners that thicken through hydrophobic interaction with latex particles and each other. They provide excellent leveling and low spatter compared to HASE types, but are more sensitive to surfactant level and are ineffective below pH 5.
