At 5-10%, benzyl alcohol reduces viscosity of solvent-free epoxy enabling spray application, then reacts with excess hardener or at elevated temperature to become chemically bound in the network. Unlike non-reactive solvents, BA does not contribute to VOC in the cured film, supporting zero-VOC floor coating claims.
