Acetone dissolves nitrocellulose, polyester, epoxy, and acrylic resins readily. Its very fast evaporation rate makes it ideal for quick-dry lacquers and surface cleaning, but it is generally not used as the sole solvent in high-build coatings due to blushing risk in humid conditions.
