FAQ
TT-115 is produced from beta-pinene, a renewable terpene monomer derived from pine resin—a natural, sustainable feedstock. In food-contact sensitive applications, terpene resins are preferred over petroleum C5/C9 resins for three reasons: (1) FDA 21 CFR 175.105 and EU food contact compliance, allowing use in direct and indirect food packaging adhesives; (2) Low odor and taste transfer — terpene degradation products are terpene alcohols rather than aromatic compounds, with significantly lower flavor taint potential; (3) Excellent compatibility with EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) hot-melt systems dominant in carton sealing. TT-115's Gardner ≤1 colorless appearance allows use in transparent window carton hot-melts where C9 resin color would be visible. The higher softening point (110–120°C vs 95°C for C5) provides better heat resistance in tropical-climate warehouse storage of sealed cartons.
