Polyether Polyol PPG-4000

Increasing PPG molecular weight from 2000 to 4000 g/mol significantly reduces the hard segment concentration at equivalent NCO:OH stoichiometry, resulting in softer elastomers (Shore A 40–60 vs 70–85 for PPG-2000 systems), higher elongation (600–900% vs 400–600%), and lower modulus (2–8 MPa vs 15–30 MPa). PPG-4000 systems also exhibit markedly better resilience and low-temperature flexibility (Tg below –50°C). These properties make PPG-4000 ideal for large-movement construction sealants (bridge deck expansion joints), automotive sound-damping pads, and flexible coatings on textile substrates. The higher molecular weight also reduces NCO consumption, lowering total system cost at equivalent performance.
