Hydroxyl Acrylic Resin HA-5560 Powder Coating Grade

HA-5560 is a solid hydroxyl-functional acrylic resin that provides powder coatings with superior exterior weatherability (ΔE <1 after 3000 hours QUV-B) and better chemical resistance compared to standard polyester powders. Acrylic powders typically have lower melt flow index at equivalent bake conditions, requiring slightly higher cure temperatures (180–200°C vs 160–180°C for polyesters). HA-5560 is cured with TGIC (triglycidyl isocyanurate) at 5–8% loading or HAA (hydroxyalkylamide) at 4–6%. The resulting films show exceptional UV resistance, making HA-5560 systems the standard for premium automotive wheels, aluminum extrusion architectural coatings (AAMA 2604 compliant), and outdoor furniture where color and gloss retention over 5+ years is required.
