FAQ
Fischer-Tropsch (FT) waxes are synthesized via the FT process from syngas, producing highly linear, narrow-molecular-weight-distribution chains with very high melting points (105–115°C for FT-720) and ultra-low ash content. Compared to paraffin waxes, FT waxes have sharper melting transitions and harder films, which means they remain encapsulated in the toner matrix at storage temperatures but release efficiently at fusing temperatures. This narrow melt behavior reduces cold offset (wax migration at storage) and provides reliable hot-offset resistance at the fuser roller without requiring liquid fuser oil.
