AGE is typically added at 5–20 phr (parts per hundred resin) relative to the base epoxy (E-44 or E-51) to reduce system viscosity from 8000–15000 mPa·s to 1000–3000 mPa·s, enabling solvent-free application at ambient temperature. At 10 phr addition, AGE reduces viscosity by ~60% while contributing one epoxide group per molecule, requiring proportional adjustment of curing agent quantity. Beyond 20 phr, mechanical properties (tensile strength, chemical resistance) degrade noticeably. Flash point of AGE is >100°C, classifying the formulation as non-flammable, which is crucial for confined-space application permits on tank interiors.
