Epoxy Novolac Resin EPN-1145

EPN-1145 has an average functionality of 3.5–4.0 epoxide groups per molecule versus 2 for DGEBA, creating a much denser crosslink network upon cure. This results in a Tg of 150–180°C (versus 120°C for DGEBA systems), dramatically lower permeability to water and oxygen, and retention of mechanical properties up to 200°C. These properties make EPN-1145 the preferred matrix for high-build coatings on refinery vessels, chemical storage tanks, and offshore steel structures exposed to hydrocarbon/seawater splash zones.
