Epoxy Curing Agent PN-23

PN-23 is a phenol-novolac Mannich base curing agent that outperforms standard polyamides in two key scenarios: (1) fast turnaround floor coatings where open time must be <30 minutes and recoat <4 hours; and (2) low-temperature curing where its reactivity maintains acceptable crosslink density at 5–10°C without heat assistance. Compared to aliphatic amines (e.g., DETA), PN-23 produces lower exotherm in thick-film applications (≥500 μm DFT) and exhibits better flexibility (elongation 5–8% vs 1–3%). Its main limitation is pot life: formulations must be applied within 30 minutes at 25°C.
