FAQ
Cycloaliphatic epoxy (ECC) contains highly strained aliphatic epoxide rings that react rapidly with photo-generated Brønsted acids (from diaryliodonium or triarylsulfonium photoinitiators) in cationic UV-cure systems. Cure speed is 2–5× faster than BPA epoxy under the same irradiation because ring strain lowers the activation energy for ring-opening polymerization. The cured network has excellent electrical insulation (volume resistivity >10^15 Ω·cm), low moisture uptake and superior UV/weather resistance due to absence of aromatic chromophores.
