FAQ
In CSA-30, each latex particle has a soft core polymer (Tg –30°C) and a hard shell polymer (Tg +60°C) with the same overall composition yielding MFFT of ≤5°C. This architecture provides: (1) film formation at low temperature because the soft core allows particle deformation; (2) hard film properties (pencil hardness ≥F) contributed by the shell—which would be unattainable in a homogeneous polymer of equivalent overall Tg. Additionally, the hard shell reduces surface tackiness (blocking resistance >1 kg/cm²) and water absorption rate compared to homogeneous particles of identical MFFT. For exterior coatings requiring both cold-weather application and water resistance—such as facade paints applied in early spring or autumn—CSA-30 outperforms conventional acrylic emulsions of equivalent MFFT by 30–50% in water blistering tests.
