Methylethylketoxime (MEKO) or methylisobutylketoxime (MIBKO) at 5–8 phr reacts fully with the terminal silanol groups in the base. Excess oxime beyond stoichiometry should be held below 1 phr to minimise bleed-out in the cured elastomer. An organotin or titanate catalyst at 0.1–0.3 phr completes the cure package and controls pot life.

Accepted Answer

Yes. Neutral-cure (oxime) chemistry releases ketoxime by-product rather than acetic acid, making the sealant non-corrosive to copper, aluminium, and thin-film coatings. Formulations based on NCS-100 pass standard copper mirror corrosion tests and remain compatible with conformal coating and potting processes after the sealant has fully cured.

Store in sealed drums under a dry nitrogen blanket at 5–25 °C. Moisture ingress above 0.10% will advance silanol condensation and irreversibly raise compound viscosity. Under recommended conditions the shelf life is 12 months from manufacture date. Verify viscosity with a cone-and-plate rheometer before crosslinker addition if drums have been previously opened or stored near the upper temperature limit.
